Terms of use
Last updated: 7 August 2026
These terms govern the current Shrayk app and website. Please read them before use. Features marked “coming” are not part of the current service.
The most important point
Shrayk provides general product information only. It is not medical, nutritional, dietary, allergy, diagnosis, or treatment advice. Never rely on Shrayk to make a medically significant decision. Always read the physical label because ingredients, allergens, and formulations can change. Seek qualified professional advice for allergies, medical conditions, pregnancy, infant feeding, or individual dietary needs.
Eligibility and licence
You may use Shrayk if you can legally agree to these terms. Shrayk — legal entity details pending publication grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use the app for ordinary individual purposes.
Current service
The current release scans supported EAN and UPC barcodes, requests a product record from Open Food Facts, displays available product information, keeps local scan history, and supports Arabic and English. It does not currently provide scoring, recommendations, user contributions, subscriptions, cloud accounts, cosmetics analysis, or AI chat.
Accuracy and third-party data
Product records may come from Open Food Facts, manufacturers, or community sources. They can be missing, delayed, incorrect, or out of date. Product formulations can change without notice. The physical package is the controlling source. Allergen information in Shrayk must never be treated as a medical safety guarantee.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, bypass access limits, reverse engineer protected portions, or use automated means to scrape or bulk-download Shrayk services. The separate rights granted by an open-data source remain governed by that source’s licence.
Future contributions
If product contributions are introduced, separate contribution terms will apply. They will require contributors to submit information from a real product they are entitled to photograph and to grant the rights needed to review, correct, publish, and license the contributed product data. No contribution flow is active in the current release.
Future subscriptions
The current release has no paid subscription. Before subscriptions launch, these terms and store disclosures will be updated with pricing, renewal, cancellation, refund, and Apple/Google payment terms. Shrayk will never receive your full payment-card details for store purchases.
Intellectual property and attribution
Shrayk’s software, brand, and original presentation are protected by applicable law. Product data obtained from Open Food Facts is attributed and licensed separately under ODbL; see Attribution. Shrayk does not display Nutri-Score letter grades. Any future 0–100 score will be Shrayk’s own presentation, documented on the methodology page.
Availability and changes
We may correct, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We do not promise that every barcode has a record or that the service is always available.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by Saudi law, Shrayk and Shrayk — legal entity details pending publication are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or reliance losses arising from product data, missed allergens, unavailable records, or decisions made using the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Courts with jurisdiction in Saudi Arabia will hear disputes, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
App-store terms
Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement applies where required unless a valid custom EULA is provided in App Store Connect. A custom EULA must be reviewed by counsel and must meet Apple’s requirements.
