Contribute a missing product

Coverage is a feature, not an afterthought

Saudi and GCC products are often absent from global catalogs. Shrayk’s planned Phase 3 contribution flow will let people add a real product with guided photos of the front, ingredients, nutrition table, and barcode.

The flow is not available in the current release. Until it is ready, Shrayk will show a clear “not found” state rather than inventing a record.

How it will work

1. Scan the barcode and confirm the product is missing.
2. Photograph the real package in good light—front, ingredients, nutrition panel, and barcode.
3. Review extracted fields before submitting.
4. A moderation process checks the record and its provenance before publication.

Automated vision may help read label text, but it will not create a product score. Contributors will be asked for explicit consent before photos leave the device.

Contribution principles

• Photograph a real product that you are permitted to handle.
• Do not include faces, receipts, addresses, or other personal information.
• Copy the physical label; do not guess missing values.
• Published factual product data may remain in the community catalog after personal attribution is removed.
• Product data and attribution terms will be shown before submission.
